THE BRIGHT ROD RUN
First run in 1991 the Bright Rod Run has become one of the premier motoring events in Australia. As the name implies the event was originally all about rods with entry restricted to pre 65 ARSF classified vehicles which had to be rods, restored, or modified. In 2013 the Bright Rod & Kustom Club began running the event and entry requirements were changed to include all vehicle whose model began manufacture prior to or during 1977.
The weekend focuses on car enthusiasts from across Australia, attracting the owners and lovers of many and varied automobiles along with their families. It is action packed with something for everyone. There is a Show N Shine, Street Cruising, a Poker Run and a Rodders Cruise. Live music every day, a carnival with side shows, trade stalls, and markets on both Saturday & Sunday.
The Bright Rod & Kustom Club (a not for profit incorporated club) run the event with the support of local community groups, local businesses and the ‘Alpine Shire’ with the proceeds from this event being put back into the community, selected charities and bursary grants.
